Cookie policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work the same way. They let a site remember things between page loads, for example that you are part-way through a session.

Our approach

We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run AlternativePrice. Today we use only strictly-necessary cookies: the ones required to deliver the service you asked for. Under EU ePrivacy / GDPR rules, strictly-necessary cookies do not require prior consent, which is why you do not see a cookie banner. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Cookies we use

CookieTypePurposeLifetime
dp_sid (first party) Strictly necessary Holds your anonymous session and credits before you sign in. Session / short-lived
Stripe (third party) Strictly necessary Set during checkout by Stripe to process payment and prevent fraud. Per Stripe's policy

What we do not use

No analytics cookies, no advertising or retargeting pixels, no cross-site trackers. Affiliate links to stores and VPNs may set cookies on the destination site after you click through, governed by that site's own cookie policy, not ours.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because the cookies above are essential, disabling them may break sign-in, your credit balance or checkout. If we later introduce optional cookies, you will be able to accept or reject them via a consent control before they are set.

Changes

We will update this page if our cookie use changes, and re-date it accordingly.
