Who we are (controller)

The data controller for AlternativePrice is OdyTech, LLC, a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, with its registered office at 8 The Green #26433, Dover, DE 19901, USA. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@alternativeprice.com.

What we collect

Information you give us:

  • Email address: when you buy a credit bundle or request a login link, so your credits are saved to an account and you can sign in across devices.
  • Marketing consent flag: only if you tick the separate, optional "deal alerts" box. It takes effect only once you have confirmed your address (through a sign-in link or the confirmation link we send when you add a price alert), so nobody can sign up someone else's email.
  • Price-alert email: if you add an email to a price alert without an account, we send one confirmation link and nothing else until you click it.

Information we collect automatically:

  • Usage records: which games and apps you unlocked and your credit balance, to run the service.
  • An anonymous session cookie (dp_sid) to hold credits before you sign in.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic device/browser information from server logs, used for security, fraud and abuse prevention, and to keep the service working. (If you add analytics later, disclose it here and update the Cookie policy.)

We deliberately keep the comparison dataset to prices and products only; we do not build profiles.

What we do not collect

No card data. Payments are handled by Stripe; card details never touch our servers. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded.

Why we use it & our legal bases

  • Contract: email + usage records to deliver the credits you bought (login, receipts).
  • Consent: marketing emails, only if you opted in. You can withdraw any time (unsubscribe link / email us), with no effect on the service.
  • Legitimate interests: server logs and technical data to secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug problems, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: keeping the records (e.g. invoices) that tax and accounting law require.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the service. See the Cookie policy for the full list and how to control them.

Sharing & processors

When you buy credits, Link (operated by Stripe) is the seller of the payment and processes your name, email, billing address and payment details as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, to take the payment, calculate tax and send your receipt. Our email provider (login links and, if opted in, deal alerts) and our hosting / infrastructure providers act as processors on our behalf, and a consent-audited residential-proxy provider may be used for price checks. We may also disclose data where required by law. We do not sell your data.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, so if you are in the EEA or UK your data is transferred to the US and may be handled by processors in other countries. For these transfers we rely on an appropriate safeguard, such as the EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. (Confirm the actual mechanism per processor before launch.)

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

Account email and credit records are kept while your account is active (credits are valid 12 months) and as required for accounting/tax. Saved unlocked results are deleted after about 13 months and usage events after 180 days. Daily backups of our database are kept for 14 days. Server logs are kept for a short period for security. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise them, email privacy@alternativeprice.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

AlternativePrice is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete and correct your personal information and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@alternativeprice.com.

Residential proxies

Price checks may route through a consent-audited residential-proxy provider. We filter out incidental personal data and keep only product/price information. See the Terms.
